Emma is a neurodivergent author from Melbourne, Australia. This novel is her stunning ‘own voices’ debut. Emma has a PhD in English Literature (Disability Studies). The title of her thesis was ‘Representations of Autistic Protagonists in Young Adult Literature.’ Emma has a Bachelor of Professional Writing with Honours, throughout which she published widely. She also has a Masters by Research. Emma presented at the Australasian Children’s Literature Association for Research (ACLAR) conference in 2022, highlighting diversity and the importance of Autistic voices, hence why she is so passionate about Violet Within. Emma enjoys spending time with her loved ones and friends, reading, writing and swimming. She likes cross-stitching and adores cats.
